I’m Mary and animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up riding horses and I can’t remember a time that my family didn’t own dogs. Watching the Westminster KC dog show as a 12 year old changed the course of my life. I thought showing dogs looked like so much fun so I expressed this interest to my mom. She then purchased a Yorkshire Terrier for me and this started my journey in dog showing, junior showmanship and breeding. When I married Doug, he said he would like to own a Siberian Husky. I said, yes, of course, as long as it is a show dog. From there, I owned and showed several Siberian Huskies to their championships. As our children were growing, we sought out a breed that would be easier to live with and would at least bark a warning when someone came to the house. When I saw the Australian Shepherd, I knew my search was over. The Aussie is everything I could ever want in a dog. They are smart, thoroughly devoted to their people and absolutely beautiful. Though I did take an extended break from showing dogs to raise children, I’ve been back showing for several years now loving it more than ever. Showing Australian Shepherds is my passion and breeding only when we desire something for ourselves is our plan. Showing dogs has taken me all over the country and has brought so many people into my life that I otherwise would never have known. I cherish these friendships that spread all over the country.

In addition to showing and breeding dogs, I enjoy spending time with my family including our three adult children, Kyle, Hayley and Chase. I also have a great passion for my career as an RN in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

I’m Doug and currently a full time police officer in the Kalamazoo area.  I have done this for the last 32 years for two different departments. During that time I have worked in many areas, one of which was as a K-9 handler. I am currently pursuing a career as a photographer, something I have done in the past while in the US Navy. I am also very involved in helping to maintain the day to day responsibilities of our dogs. l also travel frequently with Mary to dog shows, even showing in the past. This has heavily influenced my direction of photography and a part of my life I love. Connecting and capturing, in a split second, the huge personalities of these awesome dogs is magic. The more nose prints on my glasses and on my lens the better. You can check out my website at https://www.dhimages.art
